Firenze part 2

Saturation point is something one must consider when visiting Italy. After the multiple hours walking on day one freelance, and then the incredible tour provided by Marcos, followed by the exquisite dinner at Coquinairos, i was in doubt that I could even absorb another day. I started with a hotel included breakfast which, were it not included, would have cost $36 euro for a bowl of granola and some fruit.

We were met by Elizabet, who had quite a high standard to meet. Additionally,i was ready to sleep till the crack of noon instead of getting up for another tour. She introduced herself and her energy quickly rubbed off on me. We waled down the river Arno till we came to the Uffizi museum.

The lines were foreboding but with Elizabet's access we we were soon in and bypassed the long lines. There are not many photos here as they are forbidden and as my luck for getting caught in the act was running high, there are very few to share. We saw a wide gamut of works, from Bertulluci to Da Vince to Michelangelo.  It was very interesting to see the changes from the flat paintings of the 1400's to the dimensionality and the physiology of the works of Da Vinci and Michelangelo.

The Pointe Vecchio from th second floor of the Uffuzi.

The great Cosimo the 1st.

Notice from the pictures of the square how similar it is it from this depection of daily life in the square some 200 years latter.

The death mask of Dante.

The great Cathedral entrance.
