We have arrived.

It has taken us the better part of 24 hours to reach our destination, Venice. Thirteen hours in a plane, three hours in the Charlotte terminal, two hours waiting for the train, almost four hours on the train, and a short 15 minute boat ride to the hotel. In this time, we have seen remnants of a civilization from 2A.D., vast horizons of fields of corn, sunflowers, and grapes, boats on the Mediterranean, and a city that outshines the pictures  of it. We have arrived in Italy and it looks,.....just like Italy. It is as if great works of art have come alive before our very eyes.

We are tired. Even though first class with chairs that fold out to become beds is quite the way to travel, it is still not a sounds sleep. The food was outstanding and Geoff you would have loved the petite fillet. It was done perfectly. The temperature is warm, not hot. But humid. Not Florida humid, but enough that Southern Ladies would have quite the "glow" about them.

Venice so far has been a feast for the eyes. It is so bountiful that it is difficult to take it all in. For now though, we shall shower, and get a few hours of sleep before venturing out.

Until tomorrow, Ciao
